Join the family of the Lady of the Lakes Renaissance Faire and bring history to life!
Auditions will begin promptly at 10AM on August 18th. Please arrive as close to 10am as possible to receive your audition time. You may be given a return time for the afternoon session.
Please prepare one of the following:
A one minute monologue.
A one minute dance.
16 bars of a song.
Callbacks are August 25. If you audition, please have open availability for the callback date.
Rehearsal dates are September 8, 15, 22, 29 and October 6, 13, 20, 27. The final two rehearsals will be held at the Faire site in Tavares. We allow a maximum of 2 missed rehearsal dates before removal from the cast. You must make at least one visit to the Faire site prior to opening. Please communicate any concerns regarding these requirements via email.
Performance dates are Nov 2, 3, 4, 10, and 11 and you must be available for ALL dates to participate.

Faire Dates and Location – The Faire will be held over two weekends:

Cast of Characters
Individuals have the opportunity to audition for one of the groups or ensembles below. As there are a limited number of positions, actors cast are required to participate in every November Faire date.
No previous experience is required. Please prepare a 1 minute a self written monologue as your character. Additionally vocalists should prepare. Please prepare 16 measures of a song that fits the theme of a renaissance faire and dancers and movers should prepare a short dance movement or pantomime performance.
Stage Crew: The backbone of our Faire. Crew are a core part of pulling together our site. Handy with tools is a bonus. Looking for both adults & teenagers to volunteer.
Nobility: People in pretty (and very heavy) costumes. Cast walks around all day in the sun and talks to patrons about politics and the price of tea. 2 years prior Lady of the Lakes Renaissance Faire experience required.
Guards: Cast who follow the nobility around (like bouncers) and run errands when needed.
Servants: Cast who also follow the nobility around and carry ladies’ baskets.
Royal Reporters: Separate audition - A comedic team that is part town crier and part Fox News. They have scheduled performances at faire.
Gypsies: Cast who interact with patrons, leading the King’s Crusade and support other special events (i.e. chess match, opening gate).
Rose Sisters: Separate audition - Group of women singers who have scheduled performances at faire.
Dancers and movement
Dancers: Separate audition - Group of men and women who have scheduled performances at faire. Please prepare a 1-minute dance selection.
Fairies: Separate audition - Group of women who have scheduled performances at faire. Fairies flit around making magic (and mischief) and entertaining the smaller patrons (and those young at heart!) This ensemble has a cost and time requirement for costuming. Previous Faire experience is required.
Pub Members (+18 and older)
Pub Wenches: Draw attention to Lord Edward’s pub and the adult section of the faire. All wenches will attend Tip Training.
Drunk Monks: Will serve alcohol in the Drunk Monk pub. All monks will attend Tip Training.
Special Events (+18 and older)
Special Events Crew: Will be helping with set up & breakdown of reception area, serving food and alcohol and assisting the wedding coordinator as needed.
