Cast Auditions for the 2019 Lady of the Lakes Renaissance Faire will be held at South Lake High School on August 17, 2019.
Callbacks will be held on August 24th, 2019.

Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm
Doors open at 9:30 AM. Please arrive with time to fill out the online form and wait to be called. You may leave after your audition.
Due to liability issues, children under the age of 12 must have a parent in the cast in order to participate in the cast. Families are encouraged to participate together.
Please come prepared with ONE of the following prepared:
30 second monologue as a character of the Renaissance time.

Faire Dates and Location – The Faire will be held over two weekends:
November 1, 2, & 3 and November 9 & 10
Faire Site is located 12835 County Landfill Rd, Tavares, Florida 32778. This is located just off 448 across from Lake Idamere Park
There are eight (8) Saturday rehearsals starting Saturday, September 7th.
Sept 7, 14, 21, 28 and Oct 5, 12, 19, 26
The first six (6) rehearsals are held at South Lake High School.
The last two (2) rehearsals, October 19 and 26, are at the Faire site in Tavares.
Rehearsals start promptly at 10AM, ending at 1PM. (some ensembles may need extra rehearsal time and may stay later)
Cast of Characters
Individuals have the opportunity to audition for one of the ensembles below. As there are a limited number of positions, actors cast are required to participate in every November Faire date.
No previous experience is required. Please prepare either a 30 second monologue, or 16 bars of a song for this audition.
Stage Crew: Crew are a core part of pulling together our site. Handy with tools is a bonus. Looking for both adults & teenagers to volunteer. Will also run games in the children’s area.
Nobility: People in pretty (and very heavy) costumes. Cast walks around all day in the sun and talks to patrons about politics and the price of tea. Two (2) years Faire experience required.
House of Three Sisters. The first cast members guests typically meet at faire. The House runs the Royal Crusade, lost and found, and general information as well as prepares for handfasting and knighting.
Guards: Cast who follow the nobility around and look like bouncers and run errands when needed and basically makes sure no one dies.
Servants: Cast who also follow the nobility around and carry ladies’ baskets.
Royal Reporters: Separate audition - A comedic team that is part town crier and part Fox News. They have scheduled performances at faire.
Gypsies: Cast who interact with patrons, leading the King’s Crusade and support other special events (i.e. chess match, opening gate).
Rose Sisters: Group of women singers who have scheduled performances at faire. Please prepare 16 measures of an acapella song.
Dancers and movement
Actors: group of amateur actors who write and perform condensed skits based on Shakespeare. Must have excellent improvisation skills. They have scheduled performances at faire.
Royal Reporters: Royal Reporters: a silly group ready to jump on stage several times daily to share all the latest "news" with the subjects of our kingdom! Members must be be LOUD and funny!
Fairies: Fairies flit around making magic (and mischief) and entertaining the smaller patrons (and those young at heart!) This ensemble has a scheduled stage show and has a cost and time is required for costumes
Pub Members (+18 and older)
Pub Wenches and Drunk Monks: (Must be at least 18!) – helps draw attention to Lord Edward’s pub, The Drunk Monk and sells tickets to the Pub Crawl. All wenches and monks will attend tip training.
Special Events (+18 and older)
Special Events Crew: Will be helping with set up & breakdown of reception area, serving food and alcohol and assisting the wedding coordinator as needed.
